Warranties
Hampton House only buys from reputable manufacturers with a reputation to protect. Many of the products carried by Hampton House are covered by a manufacturer's warranty for hidden defects in workmanship or material for a minimum of One Year. There are some parts that have a Five Year warranty and some with a Lifetime Warranty. These warranties will be displayed with the product for your detailed examination. Warranties will not cover normal wear and tear, abuse of the product, negligence, unauthorized repair or any other problem that was not caused by poor workmanship or material original to the product.
It is important you get full and complete information on any warranties at the time of purchase. If there is a warranty issue, Hampton House will, with no obligation, assist in obtaining satisfaction on warranty issues.
Extended Warranties
Hampton House also offers an Extended Five Year Warranty that covers accidental damage to wooden and upholstered furniture such as stains, chips, dents etc.
Making a Claim
If you feel you have a warranty issue contact us and you will be sent an e-mail copy of our claim form. We asked that this be completely filled out as this is what we use to support your claim to the manufacturer. We will email to you a copy of our correspondence with the manufacturer and keep you up to date on relevant correspondence. This way you will be able to continue to take an active part in responding with any additional comments in regard to statements that may be made.
If at anytime you do not think we are aggressively pursuing the problem on your behalf we are willing to have you make direct contact to the manufacturer so that you can personally convey your problem. However Hampton House will require all copies of correspondence so that we will be able to effectively continue supporting your efforts.
After all we want you to be happy with your purchase as well.
Cancellation
Hampton House can not cancel any special or custom orders or one of a kind purchases. Once an order has been made it is immediately forwarded to the manufacturer and it is scheduled for production. Special parts or coverings may have been ordered and costs have been incurred.
If it is a one of a kind purchase off the floor then Hampton House has lost the opportunity to sell that product to another customer. Due to the cost of operating in today's economy it is extremely necessary to maximize every opportunity to make a sale. This allows us to keep our prices reasonable for everybody's benefit.
Returning Product
All our products are guaranteed to be as described when you receive them. It is Hampton House's responsibility to ensure that you receive your purchase as stated in the Order Form. If it is discovered at time of delivery there is a defect or the product is not as described on the Order Form it will be returned to Hampton House and replaced with the proper item as soon as possible. Hampton House will be allowed reasonable time to correct the mistake. However the customer will also have the option of choosing an item of the same or no more than 10% higher value as a replacement at no additional charge. Once the furniture is received, inspected, and confirmed correct, the customer must sign the Receiving Slip.
Deliveries
Two scenarios affect when your product could be delivered. 1) Purchased off the floor or available from our warehouse. Following your purchase you will be contacted within 48 hours excluding weekends and a time for delivery arranged. We promise to deliver to your area no later than two weeks from date of purchase. However in many cases the truck will be in your area sooner than that. In this case it will speed up the process to pay in full any purchases of product available from the floor or warehouse. Then when we call to arrange delivery there will be no delay while we wait for balance of payment.
2) Custom ordered items. These will require the manufacturer to schedule production, make the product, and to schedule shipping. This can take 3 to 5 weeks depending on material availability at time of order. Depending on shipping distance and whether it has to go through customs clearance shipping can take 1 to 2 weeks.
Custom orders therefore typically take from 5 to 9 weeks to arrive at our warehouse with the majority taking approximately 7 weeks. Once it lands in our warehouse it will be unpacked, inspected then package for delivery, This can take 3 days depending on volume and complexity of the order ( it takes much longer to inspect a six piece bedroom set than a recliner). Then it is included in our delivery schedule and you will be contacted for balance of payment and confirmation of a delivery date.
Deliveries are scheduled on a rotating basis to six delivery sectors. Some sectors get delivered to, more often than others due to the volume or proximity to our location. For example locally we deliver twice every week while Yarmouth is once every two weeks.
When you have agreed to a delivery date you have responsibilities to carry out.
1) Be there! Our delivery fellows are on a time schedule and if you are late arriving or "duck out for a minute" , it will make them late for all the other deliveries still to be done that day. This can make some customers extremely unhappy and we have to explain why we are late.
2) If you are receiving a bedroom set then the bedroom should be free of all furniture except for the mattress and foundation. If you are keeping the mattress and foundation it will be placed on your new bed. If you are also buying a new mattress system we will take your old mattress away at no charge. We will, at no charge, take away anything that we are replacing with a new purchase including an old bedroom set, but we can not move furniture for you from room to room or out to a storage area.
3) If it is winter the driveway has to be plowed a minimum twelve feet wide to allow our truck to get in. If there are sharp turns in your driveway it may not be possible to back out in winter so it will be necessary to have a turning area in your yard for a large truck. If it is icy there will need to be salt or sand applied.
4) The walk way to your entrance and steps must be shovelled clear and salted or sanded if icy. Your home owners insurance policy will not cover you if you have been negligent in making a safe approach to your house . If the delivery fellows believe it is not possible to deliver your product due to an un-prepared or poorly prepared approach they reserve the right to not make the delivery.
You will then have to make alternative arrangements for picking up your product or for $79.00 we will re-deliver when next passing your house. However we will not be able to, in most cases, be able to predict when that might be unless it is on one of our frequently travelled routes.
We ask that you are diligent in preparing for the delivery so that everything will run smoothly.
5) If you have delicate displays or furniture in the path of traffic for installing your new furniture we ask that you remove it from the area for safe keeping against being bumped so that there will be a clear path for the movement of heavy dressers etc.
Delays
We all hate delays. It never makes anyone happy including the manufacturer! Delays always mean increased costs to the manufacturer when production does not flow smoothly. These are costs that can't be passed on to the customer so costs are always a motivator to get the order delivered in time. But delays can occur. Delays in receiving raw material at the manufacturer, un-expected production shut downs, staff shortages, weather, transportation logistics, cross border security, busy seasons, holidays and sometimes just plain human error can all contribute to delays in receiving your product, If a delay occurs, don't panic. We are working hard to get your purchase to you. Remember we don't get our balance of payment until you get your order scheduled for delivery. Under no circumstances can Hampton House Furniture be responsible for any consequential damages resulting in shipping delays. We make every effort to quote accurate lead times and notify all our customers promptly of any delays but we can not responsible for product delays until it arrives in our warehouse.
Then we are in control! If your order has been delayed by the manufacturer or transportation system we will prioritize your delivery to get it to you as soon as we can make contact with you, arrange payment and schedule your availability to receive the product.
